                     ~~ Forbidden Native Love ~~

Two tribes people gather at opposite ends of the mountains that divide them.  For years the people of these divided camps have been at war with each other.  It started long ago, where the two tribes were once allies , are now enemies, due to their great  grandfathers disagreements, therefore splitting up the band.  Now, they must live seperately and not cross  paths for it is sure to cause a ruse.  They are rivals now, and must not shame the tribe by integrating at any level.  Once in a while a small group from either settlement will sneak into the others camp, and steal what they need from them, be it flour, meat or even a horse!  This is called a coux!   Only the most skilled warriors are allowed to complete these missions, with being as quiet as a whisper...and achieving what they come for. They are the dog soldiers, and are the main warriors, protectors of the camp. It is quite an honor to be trained in this capacity and they are well respected amongst the tribespeople.

After their mission is complete..a celebration within the camp takes place ...dancing , singing and laughter ensues.  The  drums beat loudly like the heartbeat of ones soul, and the celebration is victory!

When  Little Dove and Bear Walks were babies and then young children, the tribes were not divided yet.  They grew up surrounded by their families and played together aimlessly.  Bear walks was being taught how to hunt while little Dove was being taught how to gather fruits and berries, how to tan the hydes after the kill, how to skillfully sew and make garments out of hydes, cook and generally how to be productive within the community. The boys listened to the elders, and learned how to become skilled warriors and huntsmen.

It was a thriving band of tribes, until one of the Elders, a grandfather, how differences of opinions from the other grandfather of the opposite tribe.  They could not agree on how the camp was suppose to be ran, they could not agree from that point on on many things and one day Grandfather Black Oak declared war on Grandfather Eagle feather. It was to be that neither families of either tribe speak to one another.  It was then also agreed that they would no longer share, in all things.  They became seperate families living within the same camp.  This was very hard on the children, especially Little Dove and Bear Walks.  They grew up together.  They were best friends.  They cried for each other to be able to just raise their eyes and acknowledge each other when passin by was to be dealt with harshly.  It was not good.

It was then announced during an Elders Sweat Lodge and council meeting that the Tribes must seperate...no longer live on the same mountain sides.  They smoked the sacret pipe and for clarity the Head grandfather would announce which tribe would have to pack up and move on.

It was Bear Walks tribe.
